Eagles Rally Late for Sweep of Dominican

Despite over an hour rain delay in the fifth inning of the second game, The Benedictine University softball team tallied seven runs in the sixth to complete the sweep of Dominican University on Monday night.

THE DETAILS
• Taylor Skraba led off the game with a solo homer to left field
• Benedictine scored three more runs in the second after a two-run double from Megan Fast
• Dominican came within one after scoring a run in the third and two in the fourth
• A sac fly from Fast in the fourth and a three-run home run from Ashley Fisher in the sixth secured the Eagles victory

THE DETAILS
• Fast put the Eagles on top in the first inning with a solo shot to center field
• Dominican tied it in the second with one run off of two hits
• The Stars took the lead in the fourth, right before a storm blew in, pausing the game for over an hour
• When play returned, the bats came alive for BenU, tallying seven runs off of seven hits in the sixth
• Emily Moore picked up a big RBI single followed by another RBI single from Abbey Plutz
• Robinette, Becky Roncone, Faith Chada, Fast and Kaitlyn Velazquez all tallied RBI's in the inning as the Eagles batted around the order for the 8-2 win
