Softball Drops Two

The Benedictine University softball team suffered their first losses of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference portion of their schedule, dropping two at home to Concordia University Chicago.

THE DETAILS
• Concordia took the lead in the second after a two-run homer to left field
• The Eagles answered back in the fourth, tallying one run off of three hits, but that is where the offense stopped
• Despite tallying six hits, BenU dropped game one 2-1

Emily Moore: 2-3, 1 RBI
Alexandra Loizon (8-2): 7.0 innings pitched, five hits, 1 earned run, 4 strikeouts

THE DETAILS
• It was Benedictine to get on the board first, tallying a run in the first inning after a Moore RBI single
• The Cougars tied it up in the third with 1 run off of two hits and one error
• Concordia would go on to tally three runs in the fifth and another in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead
• Benedictine rallied in the seventh that started with a Kaitlyn Velazquez double to center field
• Alison Fisher drove in a run but it wasn't enough as the Eagles fell 5-2
