Softball Sweeps Elmhurst

The Benedictine University softball team won their fourth straight and moved to 19-5 on the season after a sweep at Elmhurst College on Tuesday afternoon.
 
GAME ONE FINAL
Benedictine 13, Elmhurst 3 (6 innings)
 
THE DETAILS
• After a scoreless first, Benedictine tallied two runs off of one hit and two EC errors
• In the third, Megan Fast, Ashley Fisher and Kaitlyn Velazquez tallied RBI's to take a 6-0 lead
• Elmhurst cut their deficit in half with three runs in the fourth but an Asia Robinette RBI sac fly in the fifth put the Eagles up by four
• The bats came alive in the sixth inning as the Eagles tallied six runs to win 13-3

THE DETAILS
• In the first, BenU tallied two runs after a Fast double to left center followed by RBI's from Fisher and Abbey Plutz
• Elmhurst tied the game in the bottom of the frame and neither team scored again until the seventh
• Plutz singled to left center and advanced on a sac bunt from Velazquez
• Sara Allison drove in the game winning run with a single to left field
• Fast and the Eagles defense held Elmhurst scoreless in the bottom of the inning to win 3-2
