• The visitors got off to a strong start leading 5-2 and held a 13-10 lead midway through the set
• Trailing 14-11, Benedictine scored seven of the next eight points with aces from
Joe Lock and
John Davis along with kills from
Jacob Grygo and Davis to lead 18-15
• Davis stopped an attempt at a rally to close out the first set
• Benedictine steadily pulled away in the second, leading 13-7 on a Grygo kill and an ace from Lock
• Nick Malak capped a three-point run and
Elijah Medlock ended the set with a kill
• UC-Santa Cruz did not lead in the third after scoring the first point
• Grygo opened a stretch of four in a row midway through the third and Benedictine led 18-11, enabling others to get into the contest
• 16 players took to the court in the win, a fifth straight
• Grygo did not have an error in the contest, hitting .786
• Benedictine hit .263 for the contest, overcoming a .083 in the first set
