BARRINGTON, IL - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team set the tone for the season with a win over Alma on Friday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
• Joe Spahn and
Nic Perkins found the back of the net just over 30 seconds apart in the opening two minutes of the game to set the tone
• Benedictine did not trail for the entire game, leading 8-4 after the opening half
• Benedictine jumped ahead 10-5 in the third on a Spahn goal but Alma rallied to within 10-8
• Benedictine owned the fourth quarter, outscoring the visitors 5-1 to pull away to the win
• Four different individuals scored in the fourth
• The contest was played indoors in Barrington at the Canlan Sportsplex as a result of field conditions due to all the recent weather
STAT LEADERS
• Benedictine held a 53-27 edge in shots, posting at least 11 in every quarter
• 32 of the shots were on goal
• Benedictine also won 18 faceoffs and collected 46 groundballs
• Seven different players scored for Benedictine led by five goals from Perkins, who also added an assist
• Thomas Tillett scored three times while Spahn and Domek each tallied a pair
• Trey Mobley picked up nine groundballs in his collegiate debut while
Mateo Salceda won 18 faceoffs
• Daniel Misheck caused four turnovers with
Daniel Lawler causing three as Benedictine forced 25 in the game
