LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team was the first to utilize the new scoreboard, kicking off the season with a loss to Carthage.

• Carthage scored the opening goal just moments after capturing the draw
• The Firebirds scored the first 10 goals, taking a 10-0 lead before the halfway point of the opening half
• Kaylee Garcia took advantage of a yellow card on Carthage to score the lone Benedictine goal with 10:31 reamining in the half
• Savanna Ulery provided a helper for her first career collegiate point
• Carthage led 13-1 at the half but scored just three times in the second
• Benedictine was the first outdoor team to play a home game since March 11, 2020
