JOLIET, IL - Beating the weather, the Benedictine University baseball team recorded a rain-shortened sweep of Ripon in a doubleheader at Joliet's DuPage medical Group Field.

THE DETAILS - GM 1
• Benedictine scored four runs in the fifth to break open the contest and rode the arm of Robbie Dudzinski to the win
• Jack Surin singled with two outs in the bottom of the first and scored on a double from Kevin Bushnell
• Surin doubled home two runs in the third to extend the lead to 3-0
• During the fifth, baserunning opened the door to a big inning with three stolen bases
• Kyle Mitter singled home a run and Bushnell logged a two-run double
• The final run of the frame came on a double from Logan Shepard
• Dudzinski tossed seven innings and struck out 10
• Brock Bevil finished the contest

STAT LEADERS - GM 1
• Surin, Bushnell and Damen Castillo all totaled two hits
• Bushnell knocked in three with Surin plating a pair
• Benedictine swiped four bases in the game

THE DETAILS - GM 2
• Wasting no time in order to get a complete game in to beat mother nature, Benedictine plated three runs in the first
• Jack Feeley tripled and scored on a single from Surin
• After Bushnell was hit by a pitch, Damen Castillo launched a two-run double
• Surin knocked home Feeley again in the third with a single after Feeley swiped second
• The final two runs scored in the fifth on a groundout by Castillo and a suicide squeeze from Anthony Lenza
• Justin Sosa was the beneficiary of the support, logging a shortened shutout
• Sosa struck out six and allowed just four hits in five frames

STAT LEADERS - GM 2
• Surin finished with three hits while Castillo knocked in three and Feeley tallied a pair of hits
• Benedictine stole four more bases
• Feeley's triple moved him into a tie for second most all-time in program history
