LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team saw their bats come to life in the second game to salvage a split with Lakeland in non-conference play.

THE DETAILS
• With the new format of the conference schedule, games against the North Division are non-conference affairs
• Benedictine managed just two hits in the opener, the first of which did not come until the fourth inning
• Lakeland took advantage of an error to break a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fourth
• Benedictine scored their lone run in the opener on a wild pitch in the third following three consecutive walks
• Game two seemed like a repeat of the opener until late
• Trailing 4-2 in the fifth, Benedictine pulled within a run in the sixth and batted around, scoring nine times in the seventh to take control
• 16 batters came to the plate in the sixth and Benedictine also stole three bases
• The outburst opened with a solo homer from
Jack Surin to tie the game
• Nic Presutti put Benedictine ahead for the first time in the twinbill with an RBI single
• Kevin Bushnell,
