THE DETAILS
• The games were played as non-conference contests with the conference split into divisions this year
• Benedictine did not trail in the doubleheader
• A two-out error opened the door for the first run in the opener when
Neena Franklin singled home the first tally
• Lakeland tied the game in the second but Benedictine responded with two unearned runs in the bottom of the inning
• Benedictine scored single runs in the fifth and sixth to account for the final in the opener
• Megan Fast singled home a run in the fifth and
Taylor Skraba homered in the sixth
• The second game saw Benedictine waste no time, plating five runs in the first
• Skraba led off the game with a double and scored on an error
• Ashley Fisher drilled a two-run homer to make the score 3-0
• An infield single from
Gianna Pullara made the score 4-0 and
Asia Robinette logged a safety squeeze to cap the scoring
• Lakeland scored two runs in the top of the third before Benedictine plated five more in the bottom of the inning to lead 10-2
• Robinette and Skraba drove home runs while three others crossed on errors
• The visitors did not go away, scoring six unanswered to pull within 10-8
• Becky Roncone logged an RBI fielder's choice in the sixth and another tun scored on an error
STAT LEADERS
• Fast notched two hits in the opener as six different individuals posted a hit
• Alexandra Loizon struck out eight in a complete game
• Franklin led an 11-hit attack in the second game by tallying three
