LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University softball team dropped a pair of contests to Marian at home on Wednesday.

THE DETAILS
• Marian opened the scoring in the first game with a solo homer from the first batter of the game and went on to open a 3-0 lead
• Benedictine got on the board in the bottom of the third when Faith Chada crossed the plate on the back end after a rundown
• Single runs in the fifth and sixth extended the lead to 5-1 for the visitors
• Ashley Fisher lifted a sacrifice fly to account for the final Benedictine run in the sixth while Marian put three more on the board in the seventh to account for the final
• Benedictine jumped in front 2-0 in the bottom of the first in the second game on a two-run single from Megan Fast
• Marian responded with four runs in the second to grab the lead, utilizing a three-run homer
• Fast drove home another run in the third to pull Benedictine within 4-3
• Down 5-3, Fast lifted a sacrifice fly in the fifth to again bring Benedictine within a run
• Both teams scored in the sixth to keep the margin at a single run
• Chada knocked home Colleen Schmit, who recorded a pinch-hit single
• Benedictine placed the tying run at second in the seventh as the rain started to fall but could not tie the game
• The games were non-conference affairs

• Alexandra Loizon struck out eight in the circle in the opener
• Taylor Skraba logged a pair of hits
• Fast threw the entire second game and also fnished with two hits and four RBIs at the plate
• Fisher finished with three hits
