Softball Swings Past Dominican

LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University softball team completed a four-game sweep of Dominican by scoring 27 runs over two games on Monday.

THE DETAILS - GM 1
•
Benedictine scored three runs in the bottom of the first on a two-out bases loaded double from Asia Robinette
• Dominican came back with two in the top of the second to pull within 3-2
• The floodgates opened in the bottom of the inning as Benedictine scored 11 runs and sent 16 hitters to the plate
• Megan Fast notched a two-run double in the inning and Robinette added two more RBIs with a single
• The big blow came when Taylor Skraba hit a grand slam
• Robinette also homered in the third, a two-run blast

STAT LEADERS - GM 1
•
Robinette finished with three hits and drove home seven runs
• Ashley Fisher also notched three hits as Benedictine totaled 11
• Alexandra Loizon struck out four in the five-inning complete game

THE DETAILS - GM 2
•
Alyssa Gill opened the scoring in the second game with a homer in the second inning
• Benedictine scored two more runs in the inning to lead 3-0
• The big inning was the third when Benedictine plated seven to open a 10-0 lead
• Robinette logged an RBI single, Neena Franklin coaxed a bases loaded walk, an error led to a pair of runs and Skraba singled home two
• The final run came when Fisher singled to center

Fisher, Gill and Robinette all recorded two htis in the second contest
• Fast threw five innings to grab the win
