ROCKFORD, IL - The Benedictine University softball team opened a weekend series with Rockford by recording a split on the road.

GAME ONE
- The first game saw a lot of offense late as Benedictine scored 10 runs over the final two innings
- Benedictine scored twice in the top of the second before Rockford plated four in the bottom of the inning
- Neena Franklin doubled home a run in the third to draw Benedictine within 4-3
- Down 5-3 entering the fifth, Benedictine scored four runs to take the lead
- Asia Robinette recorded an RBI double while
Becky Roncone,
Taylor Skraba and
Megan Fast tallied RBI singles
- Faith Chada and Skraba drove home runs in the sixth to extend the advantage to 9-5
- Four more runs scored in the seventh including a run on a double steal
GAME ONE LEADERS
- Benedictine finished with 20 hits in the opener
- Robinette was 5-for-5 with five runs scored
- Chada recorded four hits while
Alyssa Gill notched three hits
- Six players logged more than one hit
- Alexandra Loizon tossed a complete game
GAME TWO
- A much different second contest saw Rockford grab a 1-0 lead in the first
- Benedictine tied the game in the fifth on an RBI double from Fast
- Rockford scored the winning runs in the bottom of the sixth
GAME TWO LEADERS
- Colleen Schmit tallied a pair of hits in game two
- Fast struck out three in six innings but suffered the loss

Benedictine (16-11, 7-3 NACC) hosts Rockford to complete the series on Sunday.
