Men's Lacrosse Notches First Ever Win Over Aurora

LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team ran their win streak to seven by defeating visiting Aurora for the first time in program history.

THE DETAILS
•
Scott Ransom put Benedictine in front just over a minute into the contest
• Aurora scored the next three goals in the back-and-forth contest
• Ransom tied the game on a feed from Anthony Leahy midway through the second
• Benedictine took a 5-4 lead into the half by scoring twice in the final three minutes on goals from Rnasom and Brogan Hall
• Benedictine built a three-goal lead in the third quarter at 10-7 by tallying four straight goals including a pair from Joe Spahn
• Aurora battled back to tie the game early in the fourth
• Thomas Tillett scored the game-winner with 10:11 left in the fourth and Leahy added an insurance mark as the defense held strong to close out the decision
• The win puts Benedictine a game ahead of everyone in the conference and equaled the longest win streak in program history

Benedictine totaled 34 shots while completing 19 clears and picking up 34 groundballs
• Spahn and Ransom each scored three goals
• Tillett tallied a pair of goals to go with four assists
• Mateo Salceda won 12 faceoffs and picked up six groundballs
• Evan Kilbane made 11 saves in goal
