Men's Volleyball Sweeps into National Quarterfinals

SALEM, VA - The seventh-ranked Benedictine University men's volleyball team reached the national quarterfinals with a sweep of ninth-ranked Endicott in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

THE DETAILS

Benedictine came out strong to open the match, opening the contest with a kill from Jacob Grygo in route to a 5-0 lead
- Benedictine led the entire opening set despite Endicott coming back and making the match close
- On serve with a chance to tie, Endicott committed and error as Benedictine scored three in a row
- Endicott fended off a pair of set points before a Benedictine timeout led to a service error to end the set
- Endicott opened the second set strong, building a 5-1 lead in the opposite of the first set
- Benedictine slowly chipped away, tying the score at 9-9 following a kill from Nathan Klimisch and an error
- Benedictine tied the second set again at 18-18 following consecutive errors
- Trailing 20-19, Grygo notched two kills in a three-point run and a kill from Tim Folliard along with an error capped a 5-1 run
- Chase Olson capped the second set with a kill
- The third set saw Benedictine grab a 5-1 and never trail, leading 17-9
- Klimisch helped send Benedictine to the quarterfinals with a kill to end the match
