MILWAUKEE, WI - The Benedictine University baseball team split a pair of well-pitched contests at Wisconsin Lutheran.

THE DETAILS

Opportunities were hard to find in the opener
• Stephen Sewruk struck out 11 in seven blank innings
• Benedictine left 11 on base in the first contest
• The only run scored in the bottom of the ninth with two outs as the hosts scored a walk-off in the opener
• Benedictine scored single runs in the second and fourth to grab a 2-0 lead in the second contest
• Nicholas Lee singled home Damen Castillo in the second and Kevin Bushnell hit a homer leading off the fourth
• Wisconsin Lutheran was able to tie the game in the sixth with a pair of runs
• The deciding runs scored in the seventh when Benedictine broke the tie with two runs
• Logan Shepard lifted a sacrifice fly and Jack Feeley tripled home Jack Carlson
• The triple allowed Feeley to become the program's all-time leader in three-baggers with 16

STAT LEADERS
•
Simon Herold suffered the loss in the opener, striking out three in 1.2 innings
• Castillo notched two hits in the opener
• Ryan Renken allowed two runs over five innings of work in the second contest, striking out five
• Justin Sosa earned the win with three scoreless innings of relief
• Ty Liaromatis nailed down the save by working the ninth
• Jack Surin logged three hits in the second game
