Softball Completes Conference Season

MADISON, WI - The Benedictine University softball team completed the conference season with a sweep of Edgewood on the road, running their win streak to 12.

THE DETAILS
- Taylor Skraba added to her school record, conference and national leading homerun total by leading off the game with a longball
- Colleen Schmit added an RBI single in the first as Benedictine led 2-0
- The game really broke open with another big inning as Benedictine scored 11 runs in the third
- Alyssa Gill hit a three-run homer as part of the inning and Neena Franklin drove home three over two at bats
- Benedictine accounted for the final with four in the fifth
- Game two saw Benedictine open a 12-2 lead, scoring two in the second, four in the third and six in the fourth
- Sara Allison and Skraba homered in the second contest
- Franklin set the tone with a two-run single in the second and Asia Robinette singled home two in the third

STAT LEADERS
- Benedictine totaled 17 hits in the opener with Schmit and Ashley Fisher posting three apiece
- Fisher scored four times while Gill and Franklin both knocked in three
- Alexandra Loizon allowed just two hits while striking out six in the first contest
- Megan Fast earned her eighth win in the second contest
- Schmit posted three hits in the second game as Benedictine finished with 11
