After playing three games in the spring of 2021, the Benedictine University football team is set for a return to a 10-game schedule in the fall, beginning on September 4.
"Our guys are fired up for the 2021 season," said head coach
Jim Schroeder. "They handled all the challenges that Covid presented very well, but I think they are ready to get back on the field and compete again."
The schedule will feature five games at home and five games on the road. The 2021 season also features the addition of St. Norbert to the NACC leading to a conference schedule of eight games. Benedictine will visit St. Norbert on October 2.
The two non-conference contests are on September 4 at Kenyon and September 11 at home under the lights against Carroll. Kenyon did not play in 2020-21 but was 3-7 in 2019. Carroll played only scrimmages last year and was 2-8 in 2019.
The conference slate begins with a road game at Concordia Wisconsin on September 18. The first home conference game will be on September 25, which is also homecoming.
Benedictine finished the spring season with a 2-1 record, falling in a close game with Aurora in the defacto conference title game. Benedictine travels to Aurora on October 30. The final home contest will take place on November 6 against Concordia Chicago while the season will conclude on November 13 at Wisconsin Lutheran.
