LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team missed a three to tie the game at the end as a late comeback fell short in a home loss to Illinois Tech.

• lllinois Tech came out strong, opening a 7-2 lead
• Benedictine was able to tie the game at 10-10 on a basket from

• Nick Kosich hit a three to put Benedictine ahead for the first time at 13-12
• Benedictine led by four on two occasions but Illinois Tech took the lead at 35-33 heading into the break on a second chance basket at the buzzer
• Marvin Agwomoh notched consecutive baskets to tie the game at 37 early in the second half before Illinois Tech started to slowly gain distance
• The visitors opened a 61-51 lead with 5:05 remaining before Benedictine stepped up the pressure and battled within a single point
• Trevor Montiel finished an 8-0 run with a three-point play as Benedictine continually made stops on defense to make the score 65-64 with 1:05 left
• Illinois Tech recorded four points around a Cade Ellingon bucket and a pair of three-point attempts to tie fell short as time expired
• Both teams honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by wearing t-shirts

• The contest featured seven ties and 15 lead changes
• Benedictine shot 41.4 percent for the game and held a 37-31 lead on the glass but finished just 10-of-19 from the free throw line
