• Martin Radomski opened the season with a kill and
Tim Folliard added an ace as Benedictine jumped in front 2-0
• Benedictine for most of the first half in the opening set but never by more than two
• Loras took the lead for good with three straight to open a 16-14 lead and held off Benedictine's attempts to rally
• A service error followed by an ace from
Chase Olson kicked off a stretch of four in a row in the second that ended with a kill from
Logan Fuglestad to put Benedictine ahead 9-7
• Benedictine led 19-16 before Loras scored the final points, eight of which came on errors
• Benedictine played from behind for most of the third, drawing within 18-16 on another kill from Fuglestad before Loras closed with seven-of-eight
• Benedictine did not hit higher than .118 in a set, sporting a negative percentage in the second and finishing at just .048 totaling 22 hitting errors and 12 service errors
• Loras was receiving votes in the AVCA Preseason Poll
