NAPERVILLE, IL - The fifth-ranked Benedictine University men's volleyball team won the opening set but dropped a four-set decision at North Central on Friday night.

THE DETAILS
- After being swept in the season opener, Benedictine came out strong and trailed only briefly in the first
- Nathan Klimisch and
Martin Radomski logged back-to-back kills to open the match
- Chase Olson ended the first set with an ace
- North Central notched the first two of the second set and led all the way, using five straight points in the middle to gain distance
- The hosts tallied the first four points of the third but Benedictine logged five in a row to take an 18-17 lead
- Klimisch posted a pair of kills and a block in the rally while
Logan Fuglestad put the team ahead
- The teams traded three-point runs and with the contest tied at 23, North Central collected the final two to win
- North Central opened a big lead in the fourth and coasted to the win
- Benedictine posted a combined 42 errors in the loss (26 hitting, 16 serving)
- Benedictine hit .205 for the contest including a .294 mark in the first but was under .100 in the fourth
