ROCKFORD, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team won a third in a row, grinding out a road conference decision at Rockford.

THE DETAILS
- Neither team led by more than four points until late in the first half
- Jeff Kratz broke a 20-20 tie with a layup with 5:02 left in the first half
- Kratz knocked down a three with 2:06 left and
Michael Johnson dropped in a layup as Benedictine opened a 29-22 lead
- Benedictine led 29-24 at halftime
- Marvin Agwomoh scored the first points of the second half before Rockford embarked on a 9-0 run to lead 33-31 at the 15:19 mark of the second
- Benedictine took the lead for good on a layup from
Cade Ellingson with 12:27 left to make the score 37-36
- The lead reached eight on a three-pointer from
Nick Kosich with 9:02 to play
- Rockford came back to tie the game at 55-55 with two minutes remaining but split free throws with a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds and Kosich hit two to close out the decision

- Benedictine shot 35 percent from the floor and held a 49-39 edge on the glass
- The entire starting five scored 10 points apiece
- Trevor Montiel notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds
- Kratz and Agwomoh both notched 10 points and seven rebounds
