LISLE, IL - Playing for the third time in five days, the Benedictine University men's basketball team overcame a sluggish first half to pull away from Aurora.

THE DETAILS
- The lead went back-and-forth for much of the first half
- Aurora opened a 21-14 lead with 6:34 left in the half
- Nick Kosich countered with a three-pointer as Benedictine answered with a 7-0 run to tie the game on two free throws from Trevor Montiel with 5:03 left in the half
- Aurora moved in front by three points in the final minute but Michael Johnson converted on three free throws to tie the game headed to the break
- Trailing 36-35 early in the second, Marvin Agwomoh kicked off a 15-0 run as Benedictine seized control
- Carter Knuckles completed the spurt with a layup to make the score 50-36 with 12:24 left
- Aurora did not go away drawing within seven as Benedictine could not pull away but the visitors got no closer
- The game featured 11 ties and 13 lead changes

STAT LEADERS
- Benedictine shot 35 percent for the game and held a 47-38 edge on the glass
- Johnson led all scorers with 18 points, adding eight rebounds, three assists and three steals
- Montiel finished with 14 points and tacked on 12 rebounds to go with three assists
