CLERMONT, FL - The Benedictine University softball team won a third straight in Florida, shutting out UW-Whitewater.

THE DETAILS

Benedictine set the tone early, scoring three runs in the top of the first
- Taylor Skraba led off the game with a single and Megan Fast followed with a walk before a sacrifice moved the runners to second and third
- Ashley Fisher opened the scoring with an RBI single
- Asia Robinette extended the lead to 3-0 with a two-run single
- Alexandra Loizon took over from there
- Loizon did not allow a hit until the fourth inning, retiring the first eight batters
- Three more runs scored in the top of the fourth when Fast, Fisher and Colleen Schmit all tallied RBI singles
- The final two runs scored in the fifth on a two-out two-run single from Alyssa Gill

STAT LEADERS

Loizon nabbed her third win of the trip in as many starts by tossing the five inning complete game, allowing just two hits with a walk and five strikeouts
- Benedictine recorded 12 hits in the victory
- Nine different individuals posted hits
- Gill and Fisher both tallied two hits while driving home two each
- Schmit also notched two hits with Robinetter knocking home two
