Softball Tallies Senior Day Sweep

LISLE, IL - Playing at home for the final time this season, the Benedictine University softball team swept Concordia Chicago to set the stage for a huge final day of the conference slate.

GAME ONE DETAILS

Concordia Chicago grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly
- Benedictine plated four runs in the fourth to take control
- Asia Robinette lifted a sacrifice fly to plate Taylor Skraba and tie the game
- Colleen Schmit singled home pinch runner Skylar Pineda to put Benedictine ahead
- Neena Franklin followed by beating out a bunt to score Alyssa Gill and Ashley Fisher finished the scoring with an RBI single
- The visitors pulled within 4-2 in the fifth before Robinette capped the scoring with an RBI single in the fifth

GAME ONE LEADERS

Alexandra Loizon twirled a complete game to improve to 14-5 on the year
- Benedictine finished with nine hits
- Skraba posted two hits and scored two runs
- Fisher tallied two hits while Robinette

GAME TWO DETAILS

Benedictine grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning
- Skraba crossed the plate on a single by Gill
- Concordia Chicago tied the game in the third
- Four runs scored in the third inning to give Benedictine plenty of space
- Megan Fast put Benedictine in front with a two-run single
- Pineda crossed the plate on a wild pitch to make the score 3-1
- Schmit singled home the final run of the inning
- Two runs crossed for Concordia Chicago in the fifth to account for the final

GAME TWO LEADERS

Benedictine also recorded nine hits in the second game
- Skraba, Gill and Schmit notched two hits each
- Fast threw 4.2 innings to record the win

UP NEXT
Benedictine (26-10, 17-5 NACC) travels to Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday. With a sweep Benedictine would share the conference title.
