The Benedictine University women's basketball team was outscored 30-15 in the second half by visiting North Central and suffered a 63-51 defeat to fall to 0-4 on the year.
Benedictine had a strong first half shooting the ball and carried a 36-33 lead into the half. The team shot 67 percent in the first quarter, building a six-point lead and led by as many as seven in the first half. Benedictine did not score for over three minutes between the third and fourth quarter which allowed North Central to begin to pull away. The team managed just two points in an over seven minute span.
Jordan Carlquist led the team with 13 points while
Ryann Ogarek added 10. Ogarek also posted nine rebounds and two blocks. Benedictine was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line but were outrebounded 46-30. The team shot 36.2 percent in the contest that featured 10 ties and seven lead changes.
Benedictine (0-4) plays UW-Oshkosh in a non-conference game on Monday night.
