The Benedictine University women's basketball season kicked off the year with a 91-48 loss at 22nd ranked University of Chicago, the first of many challenging non-conference contests.
Benedictine held tough for much of the first quarter, only trailing by five at 20-15 following the opening 10 minutes but a Chicago run opened up the game in the second. The entire roster played in the contest as Benedictine shot 33.3 percent.
Ryann Ogarek and
Claire Levendoski both finished with nine points to lead the effort.
Benedictine (0-1) will open the home schedule on Saturday against Elmhurst.
