The Benedictine University men's volleyball team wrapped a trip to California with a loss to UC-Santa Cruz. Benedictine won the opening set, amassing 11 kills while hitting .231 but Santa Cruz, nationally ranked, won the next three sets to grab the win.
Brannen Almarales finished with 13 kills.
Chase Olson recorded seven blocks and
Cooper Armstrong logged three aces.

Benedictine (4-5) is playing another match on the trip but it is against a two-year program and is not a countable contest by NCAA rules.
