The Benedictine University baseball team kicked off the season with a split, coming from behind to win the opener before falling in the second contest at Millikin. Down 3-0 in the opener Benedictine scored four runs in the fifth. 
Brennan Fisher tied the game with a two-run single and an RBI single from 
Chase Hanselman accounted for the the fourth run. Fisher posted three hits as Benedictine tallied six. 
Jackson Bahn started and worked 3.2 innings with five strikeouts. 
Andrew Kurcz earned the win in the 5-4 decision, striking out four in five innings of relief. 
Andrew Tenison tallied the final out for the save.
Millikin scored six in the third and five in the fifth to take the second game. 
John Creviston struck out five in three innings but took the loss. Six different pitchers appeared in the contest. Six individuals posted hits.

Benedictine (1-1) plays Knox on Sunday at Millikin to finish the opening weekend of the year.
