Following up on a strong start from Friday, the Benedictine University softball team swept a pair of games on Saturday to move to 4-0 on the trip to Florida, tallying a 1-0 win over Chicago and a 4-2 win over Rutgers-Camden.

After opening the season with a perfect game,
Alexandra Loizon twirled a one-hit shutout against Chicago. The hit came in the fifth inning after 11.1 no-hit innings to start the year. Loizon fanned 13 in the shutout. The lone run scored in the fifth inning. After the first two batters of the inning reached base
Becky Roncone dropped down a sacrifice bunt and
Neena Franklin notched an RBI groundout. Four different individuals tallied hits.
Benedictine scored four runs in the first inning of the second game and held on for the win.
Ashley Fisher hit a two-run homer as the third batter of the game to open the scoring.
Jasmine Lozano allowed a two-run homer in the third and nothing else in improving to 2-0 on the year. Lozano struck out six. Fisher and
Victoria Duszynski posted two hits as Benedictine notched 10.
Benedictine (4-0) will face UW-Stout and St. Mary's on Sunday.
