After opening the season with three consecutive sweeps in Florida, the Benedictine University softball team suffered defeat for the first time, falling 15-7 to Ohio Northern and 4-3 to Augsburg.
Ohio Northern led 9-0 before Benedictine scored four times in the fourth.
Ashley Fisher, the conference player of the week, singled home a pair in the inning. Ohio Northern answered with six more runs in the fifth to put the game away.
Jasmine Lozano and
Lauryn Olson both posted three hits.
Augsburg led 2-0 in the second game with single runs in the second and third.
Taylor Skraba cut the deficit in half with an RBI single in the fifth but Augsburg added two needed insurance runs in the sixth. Skraba drilled a two-run homer in the seventh but the team fell just short. Skraba, Fisher and
Becky Roncone all finished with two hits.

Benedictine (6-2) is off until Thursday when the team will play the final two games of the trip against Ripon and Hamilton.
