The Benedictine University baseball team scored 29 runs in a pair of seven-inning home victories over Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday, grabbing 17-3 and 12-2 decisions.
Benedictine scored seven runs in the fourth inning of the opener to break open an already large 5-0 lead.
Cole Wilson hit a two-run homer in the frame. After Wisconsin Lutheran scored three runs in the fifth, Benedictine put five on the board in the sixth.
Nick Kosmetatos did not allow an earned run in five innings, striking out five.
Ryan Doubek finished with two hits and drove home three.
Brennan Fisher also drove home three.
The second game saw Benedictine score in four straight innings.
Alex Cameron opened the scoring in the second inning with a sacrifice fly.
Andrew Tenison connected on a two-run homer in the third and Doubek added a two-run shot in the fifth as part of a five-run frame.
Andrew Kurcz struck out eight in five innings to grab the win. Doubek notched three hits and drove home three in the second contest. Cameron also plated three runs. Benedictine stole eight bases in the sweep.
