The Benedictine University softball team dropped a pair of 4-3 decisions at Dominican in conference play on Tuesday.
Benedictine held a 2-0 lead in the opener after scoring twice in the fourth.
Taylor Oppenhuis doubled home the first run and the second run scored on an error. Dominicna tied the game in the fifth before a
Morgan Bruno sacrifice fly put Benedictine ahead again in the sixth. Dominican tied the game in the sixth and walked off with two outs in the seventh. Oppenhuis posted two hits and Benedictine stole three bases.
Alexandra Loizon suffered the loss, tossing a complete game.
Dominican scored three runs in the first of the second contest and did not trail. Benedictine left the tying run on base in the seventh. All three Benedictine runs came on extra-base hits.
Taylor Skraba homered in the fifth,
Victoria Duszynski tripled home a run in the sixth and Oppenhuis doubled home a run in the seventh. Benedictine finished with 10 hits as Skraba, Oppenhuis and Bruno notched two.
Jasmine Lozano tossed a complete game and allowed just two earned runs but took the loss.
