The Benedictine University men's volleyball team saw their season come to an end with a five-set loss to fifth-ranked North Central on the road in the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon. Benedictine won the first and third sets and held a 9-6 lead in the decisive fifth. The contest was played before a packed house in a rematch of a four-set North Central win early in the season. Benedictine gave the hosts all they could handle in the program's second ever NCAA appearance.
Nathan Klimisch put down 18 kills while
Chase Olson added 13.
Cooper Armstrong finished with nine kills and five blocks along with eight digs. Olson posted three aces. Benedictine hit .275 for the match and held North Central, one of the top hitting teams in the nation, below their season average.
Sanchit Khaitan dished 43 assists and added eight digs.
Kyle Vasquez, the two-time NACC Defensive Player of the Year who was named as the Frogjump Libero of the Year, finished with 13 digs.
