The Benedictine University baseball team moved to 5-1 in the NACC by sweeping a pair of games at Illinois Tech, winning 7-6 in 11 innings and following with an 11-7 decision.
Benedictine fell behind 2-0 in the opener and played from behind for most of the game but scored twice in the ninth to open a 6-5 advantage.
Tristan Kerr singled home the go-ahead run after an error allowed the game to become even. Illinois Tech tied the game in the bottom of the ninth but
Andrew Tenison doubled home the winner in the 11th. Benedictine posted 14 hits in the opener. Tenison earned the win on the mound and posted three hits.
Nick Kosmetatos started and threw five while
Nick Shelton tossed four innings.
Logan Gregorio also posted three hits.
Benedictine built a 5-0 lead in game two and held on for the win.
Ryan Doubek doubled home two in a three-run third. Doubek finished with four RBIs and three hits,
Cole Wilson scored four runs and logged three hits.
Andrew Kurcz tossed six innings and allowed two runs. Tenion recorded the final out for the save. Benedictine stole eight bases in the game.
