The Benedictine University baseball team is just one win away from a conference championship and an automatic NCAA bid after
Nick Kosmetatos twirled a 6-0 shuout of Aurora University in the NACC Tournament on Friday night.
Cole Wilson cleared the bases in the top of the first inning with a three-run double to set the tone. The runs were more than enough for Kosmetatos, who struck out eight in the win. Benedictine added insurance with two runs in the seventh and one in the ninth to account for the final.
Ryan Doubek paced the offense with three hits out of the leadoff slot.
BOXSCORE
Benedictine (30-12) will play at 2pm against either Edgewood or Aurora in the first of potentially two championship games.
