After shutting out Aurora to reach the NACC Championship on Friday, the Benedictine University baseball team dropped the first game by a 6-2 final on Saturday afternoon.

Benedictine scored three first inning runs on Friday and it was Aurora's turn on Saturday. Playing as the visiting team the sixth-ranked Spartans scored three in the first and did not look back. Aurora added another run in the second to push the lead to 4-0. Benedictine was able to get on the board in the fourth when Brenna Fisher singled home
Kevin Bushnell to draw within 4-1. Two runs for Aurora in the sixth extended the lead to 6-1. Benedictine scored a run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly from
Andrew Tenison and had the tying run at the plate but could not break through.
Stephen Sewruk started and threw four innings, suffering the loss after allowing four runs on four hits with five walks and four strikeouts.
Andrew Kurcz made his second relief appearance of the tournament, finishing out the game by working the final five, striking out two. Benedictine outhit Aurora 10-7 in the defeat.
Anthony Lenza posted two hits along with
Kevin Bushnell.
Benedictine (30-13) meets Aurora again on Sunday in a winner-take-all game at 12:00 pm at Concordia Wisconsin for the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
