The Benedictine University softball team scored 10 runs in the fifth inning to explode and break a five-game skid with a key conference win at Concordia Chicago on Wednesday.
Ashley Fisher smacked three homers including two in the fifth inning and drove home eight. The three homers matched the conference record.
Taylor Oppenhuis also homered in the contest. Fisher hit her first homer in the opening inning to set the tone as Benedictine led 6-0 after scoring in each of the first three innings.
Taylor Skraba finished 4-for-4 with three runs out of the leadoff slot.
Jasmine Lozano and Fisher both scored four times.
Alexandra Loizon went the distance to earn her 12th victory. All nine members of the lineup posted a hit with Benedictine amassing 17 in the win.

Benedictine (22-16, 10-12 NACC) ends the regular season on Saturday against Rockford at home.
