The Benedictine University women's basketball team improved to 3-1 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play by tallying a 59-48 road win over Concordia Chicago on Saturday afternoon.
Benedictine led for most of the game, opening a double-digit lead on a
Claire Levendoski three-pointer with 3:56 left in the opening quarter, part of a 15-0 run over four minutes which saw only two missed shots. The advantage reached 16 points before halftime and Benedictine held off a second half Concordia Chicago rally.
The game featured three ties and two lead changes. Benedictine shot 32.8 percent from the field and reeled in 44 rebounds including 15 on the offensive end which led to 15 second chance points. Benedictine also scored 20 points off 24 turnovers.
Autumn Rucker continued her strong stretch by surpassing her career high with 21 points in 26 minutes off the bench. Rucker has scored in double figures in five of the last six games with 18 or more in four of those games.
Jordan Carlquist also reached double digits, tallying 13.
Benedictine (3-10, 3-1 NACC) has now won three straight conference contests and will host Concordia Wisconsin on Wednesday night at 5:30pm
