Heading west for the weekend, the Benedictine University men's basketball team opened the journey at Whitworth, a perennial NCAA team. Whitworth pulled away in the second half to tally a 90-59 victory.
Benedictine scored the first four points of the game and led a few times in the half but Whitworth embarked on a pair of late runs, opening a 13-point edge and heading into the half on top 38-29. The hosts scored the first seven points of the second half and tallied 52 points in the second 20 minutes to pull away.
Benedictine shot just 35.6 percent from the field in the contest and were outrebounded 44-32
Tanner Resch was the lone player to hit double figures, notching 12.
Noah Mason finished with nine and
Patrick Mayfield added seven..
Benedictine (1-1) finishes the journey on Saturday night against Whitman.
