The Benedictine University women's basketball team built an early nine-point lead and did not look back ,easing to their first conference win by an 83-44 score at Dominican.
Olympia Kokkines opened the game with a three-pointer. Tied at 3-3, Benedictine scored nine straight capped by another three from Kokkines to lead 12-3.
Makenzie Carroll hit a jumper to put Benedictne up by double figures at 16-6 with 3:22 to go in the opening quarter. A three from
Megan Duzansky handed Benedictine a 22-8 lead at the end of the first. The advantage swelled to 26 in the second and Benedictine led 46-21 at halftime. Benedictine continued to stretch the lead in the second half and eased to the win.
Benedictine made 11 triples and shot 49 percent in the game including 69 percent in the second. The team also held a 46-43 advantage on the glass.
Alexis Schueler led four players in double digits with 16.
Allison Jarvis notched 13 with Kokkines adding 11 and Duzansky notching 10.
Benedictine (2-3, 1-1 NACC) plays at UW-Oshkosh on December 16 after finals.
