Box Score 2 The Benedictine University softball team finished their trip to Florida with a split of games on Thursday, their final day of action.
The first game saw Benedictine score early on the way to an 11-0 five-inning win over Concordia Moorhead.
Victoria Duszynski hit a three-run homer in the first inning. Benedictine amassed 11 hits in the win. Duszynski and
Morgan Bruno both finished with three hits.
Bella Lodico allowed just three hits in the five-inning shutout.
The trip came to a close with an extra-inning loss, 4-3 to Defiance. Down 1-0 into the sixth,
Taylor Oppenhuis tied the game with an RBI single. Both teams scored in the eighth and Defiance scored tallied two runs in the ninth. Benedictine had the tying run at third and to go-ahead run on base but could not break through in the bottom of ninth.
Benedictine used three pitchers in the contest. The team stole three bases.
Sam Davidowski tallied two hits.
Benedictine (7-3) hosts nationally ranked Concordia Wisconsin in the home and conference opener on March 23.
