The Benedictine University softball team split a pair of non-conference games at North Park on Tuesday.
GAME ONE: NORTH PARK 3, BENEDICTINE 2
Benedictine totaled 10 hits and held a 2-1 lead before North Park scored twice in the last of the fourth to grab the win.
Freshly minted NACC Player of the Week Hayley Barnes doubled home a run in the third while
Taylor Oppenhuis put Benedictine in front with a fourth inning RBI single.
Bella Lodico worked six innings in the defeat, allowing two earned runs in the circle. Oppenhuis, Barnes,
Victoria Duszynski and
Sam Davidowski all collected a pair of hits.
GAME TWO: BENEDICTINE 9, NORTH PARK 6
Benedictine scored six runs in the top of the seventh to come from behind and salvage a split. North Park led 3-0 and 6-2 in the contest.
Morgan Magnabosco posted a two-run single in the seventh to give Benedictine the lead. Magnabosco drove home three in the win and scored twice.
Breanna Deutscher notched a pair of hits and knocked home two.
Lauren Gallagher earned the win in relief while Lodico collected the save.
Benedictine (14-10) returns to conference play on Saturday, hosting Edgewood at Heidkamp Field.
