The Benedictine University softball team scored 10 runs in the opener but needed to settle for a split of conference road games on Sunday at Concordia Chicago.
GAME ONE: BENEDICTINE 10, CONCORDIA CHICAGO 5
Benedictine scored in five different innings and slapped 14 hits to win the opener. Benedictine took the lead in the top of the first and did not look back, leading 6-0 in the fifth.
Morgan Bruno singled home two in the second and
Haley Barnes homered again in the fifth.
Four players recorded multiple hits led by three from
Victoria Duszynski. Bruno knocked home four out of the leadoff slot.
Bella Lodico earned the win by working 5.1 innings and striking out four.
GAME TWO: CONCORDIA CHICAGO 5, BENEDICTINE 1
Barnes walked with the bases loaded in the third to force home the first and only run for Benedictine. The hosts came back with four in the bottom of the inning and limited Benedictine to just five hits in the contest, all coming from different individuals.
Benedictine (17-11, 9-7 NACC) is slated to host Mount Mary on Wednesday afternoon.
