Box Score 2 The Benedictine University softball team saw a six-game win streak come to a close by dropping a pair of non-conference games down the road at North Central, including a 13-11 slugfest in the second contest.
North Central claimed the opener 7-2. After falling behind 1-0,
Victoria Duszynski tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the third but North Central scored the next three runs and used three runs in the sixth to put the game away.
Morgan Bruno,
Taylor Oppenhuis,
Cami Hurt and
Lauryn Olson all posted two hits.
Bella Lodico worked four innings and took the loss.
The second contest saw Benedictine hold leads of 1-0, 4-2 and 10-8 only to drop a 13-11 decision after North Central scored four in the fourth. Oppenhuis posted a two-run single in the second and Duszynski a three-run double in the fourth. Benedictine finished with 13 hits.
Breanna Deutscher led the way with three. Olson, Hurt, Bruno and
Mia Giammarese all collected two.
Benedictine (23-13) plays at home for the final time in the regular season on Friday against Rockford.
