The Benedictine University softball team took advantage of the beautiful spring weather to finally play Dominican and suffered a loss in both ends of a doubleheader to the 19th ranked team in the nation.
GAME ONE: DOMINICAN 2, BENEDICTINE 1
Dominican scored single runs in the second and fourth to open a 2-0 lead but managed little else against
Bella Lodico in the circle.
Haley Barnes connected on a solo homer in the seventh for the lone Benedictine tally. Lodico suffered the loss, allowing five hits.
GAME TWO: DOMINICAN 12, BENEDICTINE 0 - FIVE INNINGS
Dominican scored seven runs in the second inning and did not look back to gather the sweep.
Morgan Bruno and Barnes both notched two hits for Benedictine.
Lauren Gallagher worked three scoreless innings.
Benedictine (9-9, 2-6 NACC) heads to Wisconsin Lutheran on Thursday to make up another doubleheader.
