The Benedictine University men's lacrosse season came to an end in the opening round of the NACC Tournament despite a valiant effort on the road against the undefeated regular season champions, Aurora, dropping a 15-12 decision.
The teams went back and forth all throughout the first half. Aurora scored the first two goals before Benedictine came back to tie the game. 
Jonathan Zimmerman scored the first marker with 11:41 remaining in the opening quarter and less than a minute later 
Dylan Langley scored man-up to even the game. Aurora tallied the next three goals before Benedictine countered with four in a row, taking a 6-5 lead on the first goal of the second quarter when 
Robert Schroeder set up 
Luke Grant.
The teams went into halftime even at 8-8. Aurora came out with the first three goals of the third and Benedictine never led again. 
Tyler Sarna drew Benedictine within 13-12 early in the fourth, but Aurora scored the next two, sealing the game with a late tally.
Benedictine won 21 of the 30 faceoffs and collected 46 groundballs. Sarna scored four times to lead the attack. 
Ben Zimmerman scored twice and dished three assists. 
Aiden Elliott and Langley also scored a pair of goals. 
Jonathan Zimmerman won 20 faceoffs and picked up 12 groundballs. 
Colin Doyle recorded 14 saves in net. 
Benedictine ends the year with a record of 6-11.
