D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association released their All-Region teams on the same day and Benedictine University saw a total of four players receive recognition.
Three players earned First Team All-Region 8 honors from D3Baseball.
Logan Gregorio earned first team honors as a catcher for the second straight year while
Kevin Bushnell received the same honor at first base.
Austin Pizer was also selected first team all-region as a relief pitcher.
The ABCA placed four Benedictine players on the All-Region 8 Second Team. Gregorio, Bushnell and Pizer were again honored while
Brennan Fisher collected second team honors at the designated hitter slot.
Bushnell hit .433 with 13 homers and 62 RBIs this season. Fisher was right behind him with a .366 mark to go with 14 homers and 63 RBIs. Gregorio, who was a Preseason All-American, hit .365 with 10 homers and 53 RBIs. Pizer stepped into a huge contribution role this year and was the MVP of the NACC Tournament. The right-handed pitcher finished 7-1 with a 2.08 ERA to go with six saves.
Benedictine posted a record setting season, winning 33 games, the most in program history. The team won the NACC Tournament for the first time in program history, reached the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2013, and won a game at the regionals for the first time since 2003.
