The Benedictine University softball team opened play in the NACC Tournament with a 1-0 shutout over Edgewood.
Benedictine managed just two hits but recorded the victory.
Morgan Bruno walked to lead off the game, stole second and was sacrificed to third. Bruno then stole home with two outs to account for the only run.
Bella Lodico allowed three hits in seven innings to record the shutout, walking once and striking out five times.
Benedictine (25-16) will play the hosts, second-seeded Aurora, at 4pm.
