Freshman keeper
Jordan Rolon made 15 saves to help the Benedictine University men's soccer team hold on to earn a draw against North Central in non-conference play at home on Sunday afternoon.
Benedictine stormed to a 2-0 lead in the opening 45 minutes.
Chris Reynoso played a long pass from Mark Szklarcyk into the back of the net just five minutes into the match to put Benedictine in front. Nearly 20 minutes later it was Szklarcyk's turn, driving home a pass from
Thomas Suchecki to make the score 2-0 in the 23rd minute. The lead held through the first half and into the second when the pressure changed. North Central kept on a constant attack and scored in the 54th minute before tying the game in the 76th.
North Central recorded 31 shots with Rolon stopping 15. Benedictine managed only six but scored on two of the attempts.
Benedictine (2-2-1) opens the conference slate on Wednesday at home against Concordia Wisconsin.
