The Benedictine University women's basketball team trekked north to meet the unbeaten leaders of the NACC, dropping a 63-48 decision.
Benedictine converted on their first three possessions of the game, all following a defensive rebound, to build an early 6-0 edge. The hosts battled back to tie the game and held a 16-15 edge after one. The advantage reached nine in the second quarter and Benedictine trailed 32-26 at the half. The hosts quickly extended the margin to double figures in the third and led by as many as 13. The lead grew to 15 in the fourth.
Makenzie Carroll completed a three-point play to bring Benedictine within 57-48 but St. Norbert converted six straight free throws to close out the win.
Benedictine shot 32 percent in the loss and snared 16 offensive boards among 32 total rebounds.
Allison Jarvis paced Benedictine with 16 points. Carroll added 10.
Hailey Bachmann reeled in 11 rebounds.
Benedictine (8-8, 4-3 NACC) hosts MSOE on Saturday afternoon.
